On Monday, December 19th, 2022, I drove out to the Cape Reinga Lighthouse. From the parking lot, it is a relatively short distance to the lighthouse. From here, you can see the meeting point of the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean. The true nothernmost part of New Zealand is actually North Cape, however getting there is much less accessible and requires a permit.
